Hierapolis Roman Theatre
The Hierapolis Roman Theatre is a 2nd-century amphitheatre carved into the hillside above the travertines. With 15,000 seats, superbly preserved carvings on the stage building, and a commanding view over the plain, it is the visual highlight of the Hierapolis site.
How to get there: Inside Hierapolis, about 1 km uphill from Sinter Terasse Hotel. The walk from the lower travertine gate takes 20–25 min up the travertines.
Tip: Visit in the early morning or late afternoon for golden light and fewer crowds.
