Cleopatra's Antique Pool
The Antique Pool of Cleopatra (also known as the Sacred Pool or Pamukkale Antique Pool) is a naturally warm (35°C) mineral-water pool inside Hierapolis, where submerged Roman columns — toppled by a 7th-century earthquake — lie on the bottom. Swimming here is the signature Pamukkale experience.
What to expect: The mineral water is rich in calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate, mildly effervescent. Swimmers float among the ancient columns; the water is comfortably warm year-round.
How to get there: Located inside Hierapolis, about 900 m from Sinter Terasse Hotel. A separate entry fee applies in addition to the Hierapolis / travertine ticket.
Practical tips: Bring swimwear, towel and flip-flops. Lockers and changing rooms are available on site. Plan 45–60 minutes; it's busiest midday, quieter in early morning.
